I have been going crazy with some of these issues in EW. Now open your site in Expression Web and everything should be working!įirst time i have every tried responding to these. This is simple. Open the Visual Studio Command Prompt (from Start menu) and navigate to the bin folder of your site and type d:\> gacutil /i AjaxControlToolkit.dll STEP 3 - Add the AjaxControlToolkit.dll to GAC STEP 2 - Add the AjaxControlToolkit.dll to your site's bin folder. NOTE: Since the AjaxControlToolkit is referenced in the web.config you do not need to include on each of your pages. These are simple enough to find in the sample website for the AjaxControlToolkit's web.config. NOTE: The assmebly version and keys may vary depending on what version of the toolkit you have installed. STEP 1 - In your sites web.config file you must have the following: This is how you get Ajax and the AjaxControlToolkit working in Expression Web (code view w/ intellisense and design view with properties). I figured I'd explain how for future viewers. Name: įollowing is the the code snippet where error occurs: Following is the header of the "Auto Generated" script file where the error happens. It doesn't occur in Firefox, Chrome, or other versions of IE. There appears to be an error in an auto generated script when using the Ajax Toolkit HTMLEditor Extender with a textbox in IE 11. There was no excuse for it to be in the AjaxControlToolKit. This is simply Microsoft's way of trying to shoehorn Azure into everything as they try to force developers to make everything depend on Azure so microsoft can add monthly revenue streams. All I wanted was the AjaxControlToolKit that has existed without that crap for years. It took about 5 minutes for it to load all that unwanted crap into my project. Perhaps splitting this into two packages, an AjaxControlToolkit Basic, and an AjaxControlToolkit AzureĬomments: I just used Nuget to get the AjaxControlToolKit and that is the version it stuck me with. Why bundle in so much Azure stuff when most people won't really need it? WCF Data Services Client (I don't use OData so this is pointless) Windows Azure Configuration Manager (I really don't want this.) Windows Azure Storage (I don't want this.) HtmlAgilityPack (yep, for the white-list parser) which isĪjaxControlToolkit (cool, this is needed obviously) At the moment the Nuget package seems to bring in everything. Surely there is a way to only include the Windows Azure dependencies if they are actually desired. The new v7.1213 seems to bring in so many dependencies, which has bloated the size of a simple (no touch) deployment by about 4MB.
